   I just received the Bosu 3D System Balance Trainer today (4/2/2010), so I haven’t had the chance to truly test it out, but I wanted to leave a review about the assembly – since most of the poor reviews on Amazon are focused on getting this equipment put together.

   Perhaps the company has received so many complaints that they’ve altered their manufacturing method(s), or maybe not all of the platforms are defective, but I had absolutely no problem assembling the 3D platform (or blowing up the Bosu balance trainer with the included pump, crappy though it is). Everything lined up perfectly; screws, washers, and springs went in easily; all pieces appear to be made solidly. This is a sturdy piece of exercise equipment!    I am very pleased with the BOSU. I am a Doctor of Chiropractic and specialist in Chiropractic rehabilitation. The BOSU is an excellent piece of low tech equipment for home or office. 3. Just what I was looking for

   I had been looking for a Bosu ball for a couple of weeks and was waiting for it to go on sale at the store I frequent. This was the one piece of equipment I enjoyed working out with, when I was using a personal trainer. Although, I only used it for a few exercises. When this set came up on the Amazon daily deal via text message to my phone, I jumped at the chance to purchase it for less than what just the Bosu ball was going for. I have gone through the booklet that came with it that has several exercises–strength, core and aerobic–and it’s more than I expected. I have not yet viewed the dvds, but plan to soon.

   I didn’t have many problems putting it together. Just follow the directions exactly. If it doesn’t say “tighten”, don’t tighten. The instructions will tell you when to go back and tighten. The balancing bar and platform part of the system will fit through a 36″ door with no tilting or maneuvering. Anything smaller and you will have to maneuver it, but it is possible with a little mechanical engineering. I made the mistake of trying to store it in our closet and it’s just to much trouble to get it out of the small door, through the bathroom, and into the bedroom.

   I’m very happy with my purchase. And this is the exact Bosu ball–quality and integrity–you might find in your gym.

   Incidently, I received this the day after it shipped. Apparently, there is an Amazon distribution center in the Dallas, TX area.

   
   

4. Great piece of equipment!

   The balance trainer had a few glitches with the screw holes not being aligned on one side, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I have been using it even though there is one less screw holding the bar onto the base. I don’t hang on the bar, and I haven’t had any problem with stability. The BOSU has been awesome for increasing my aerobic fitness, upper and lower body strength, and core strength. I have been using this since November, and I can now see the results with a trimmer middle. I have a history of back problems. My back feels a lot stronger and I haven’t had any back aches since using this. I am an equestrian, and the core stability has really helped my riding. The other day my husband said, “have you lost weight? You look more fit.” Hah! The set came with 3 different DVDs, meaning you can really vary the workout from pretty easy to really hard (at least for me). Best $89 I’ve spent on exercise, anytime, anywhere. 5. A few glitches, but an excellent workout

   Got this around Christmas as the deal of the day, awesome price. It’s up again today for $87.99, a price you really can’t beat. Like a lot of reviewers, I had seen the BOSU with no accessories in stores for more than this price. I’m not sure what the normal Amazon price for this package after today is, but I’m sure it’s still far better than the stores.

   I received the BOSU, stand, pump, elastic bands, and 3 workout dvds. I’ve used 2 of the dvds so far, (and I’ve been out of cardio shape for a few months) and they’ve really kicked my butt. I’m very experienced with step aerobic workouts, and the wobble of the BOSU adds a welcome challenge to even the most basic moves. Yes, there are way too many squats for my liking as I’m just getting back into shape, but I’ve done enough aerobics classes to know how to do my own thing if I need a break for a minute. I doubt I will want to do the dvds day in and day out b/c I will get bored with them, so last week I just put on a cd and did my own combination of steps, squats, knee lifts, and whatever to my own music–a great option once you are comfortable with the moves from your dvds.
